Willow Farm Therapeutic Riding

…. from the director:

Welcome, one and all, to year 12 of therapeutic riding.  We are excited to begin the season.  The newsletter will be posted

on our website: www.wftriding.org and postcards will again be sent to riders and volunteers.

Our weight limit remains at 180 lbs.  All riders must be UNDER this amount.  This is a safety factor for our horses.

All tuition fees are due on or before the first class in each session begins.  Please come to your child’s first lesson

prepared to complete all necessary forms and pay tuition fees.

I also want to give SPECIAL RECOGNITION to the YMCA of Marquette for their continual support in providing insurance for

the program from May through November each year.  In addition, I want to acknowledge all the foundations, service

organizations, patrons and volunteers who faithfully support the program.   ALL of you help to make Willow Farm

Therapeutic Riding the program it is today.

Our horse and pony participants this year include Mr. C., Belle, Jimmy, Winston, Willie and Angel and a new fella named

Bandit.   After many years of service to many riders, Sydney has officially retired from the program.

And so . . . I welcome each and every one of you back to the “magic” of that horse/person relationship and the therapy that

results.
        . . . Linda

FUNDRAISERS:  We will be sponsoring our 3rd annual Derby Day at Willow Farm on Saturday, May 1, 2011.  You should be

receiving more information on the details as that date approaches.

We will also continue collecting Econo receipts throughout the year.  We have a collection box in the
viewing room.

Please help by supporting these fund raisers – they are a part of what keeps your tuition fees so
reasonable.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING:  We appreciate all the time and effort each of you put into making this program the best it can be.

NEW VOLUNTEERS:  This training is a requirement for working with the program.  All participants must be 14 years of age to

work in the arena with children and horses.  Wear your “barn clothes”!!  If you know of someone who would like to volunteer

but isn’t comfortable around horses, we can put them to work in other areas of the program.
